Mackay Airport sends a huge congratulations out to the city on being named Wotif Australian Town of the Year.
General Manager Rob Porter said that it is thanks to the combined efforts of many groups in the region such as Mackay Tourism Limited and Mackay Regional Council the city’s profile has boomed in recent times.
The Wotif index to determine their Town of the Year examined the affordability, demand, increased interest and the number of properties in each town or city available on Wotif.com.
“Mackay Airport is proud to have contributed our part in promoting our region, all it’s hidden natural treasures and the 101 plus things there are for our visitors to do as part of their Mackay experience,” Mr Porter said.
“We’ve ramped up our social media activations to share the news of Mackay’s natural attractions, amazing fishing, awesome events and much more.”
