Mackay Airport’s Endless Summer Competition came to a close last month with the lucky winners announced this week.
Adrian Miles, Manager of Commercial and Terminals at Mackay Airport said the competition had attracted great interest from passengers over the summer, with entries received from all over Australia.
“We had a terrific response to our competition and entries exceeded our expectations.”
The competition ran for four months and the first prize of the Reef Marine boat has been won by Stephen Vesper. Second prize, a family holiday to Queenstown has been won by Andrew Parker.
Mr Miles said he was thankful to all the sponsors of the Endless Summer Competition including Reef Marine, Helloworld Travel, Crown Currency Exchange, CaterCare, Visual Graphics, Mackay Tourism and Ibis Mackay.
Mackay Airport General Manager Garry Porter said despite the current challenges Mackay Airport is facing as a result of COVID- 19, February passenger numbers were up nearly six per cent on the previous year.
“We are very much in the midst of some short-term pain, but have been encouraged that the aviation sector as a whole is resilient and will emerge and thrive when consumer and business demand returns.”
