 The 2008/2009 financial year saw Mackay Airport achieve its eighth consecutive year of growth.

Flavours Café

Flavours Cafe, the Departure Lounge Kiosk and the newly refurbished Bar at the Mackay Airport

The Cafe caters for passengers and visitors alike by providing a great range of hot foods, cakes, slices and delicious Lavazza Coffee. Freshly made sandwiches and salads are prepared each day on the premises. The newly refurbished bar is open from 10.00am each day, serving a selection of beer, wine and spirits. There is also a bar menu offering a choice of finger foods to enjoy while catching up on the latest news and sports on the Bar’s television.

As no hot beverages are permitted through passenger security screening, these are available in the Departure Lounge Kiosk. The Kiosk is open Monday to Saturday, serving hot and cold drinks, light refreshments, newspapers and magazines. Snack Boxes are also available to be taken and enjoyed on flight, with two Boxes to choose from: either a Sandwich Pack or Snack Pack.

Catering for groups using the Airport Conference room is also available, and our friendly staff are always happy to discuss our services and options.

Observation Area

An outdoor observation area facing the apron is available for visitors to greet and meet friends and loved ones and to enjoy the outdoor, tropical climate of Mackay.

This area includes tables and chairs, and has a fish pond containing barramundi - a local delicacy and popular dish in Northern Queensland.

ATM and Netkiosk

Net Kiosk

Two internet kiosks are located next to the entrance to the observation area. The machines are operated using $1 and $2 coins only - $2 for 20 minutes online. Enquiries - 1300 883 466.

ATMs

Two ATMs are available in the terminal concourse. One ATM is located close to the entrance to the departure lounge and the second ATM is located at the arrivals end of the terminal, both providing access to all major cards and banks. Terminal Plan

General Information

Listed below is the locations of general terminal facilities:

  • Public toilets (including facilities for particular needs people) are available in the concourse and departure lounge.
  • A Parents Room is located at the check-in area.
  • Showers are located within the concourse toilet blocks.
  • A public phone is located near the check-in area.
  • Baby high chairs are available at the Flavours Café.
  • Wheelchairs are available at the front of the terminal.
  • Trolley bays are located throughout the car parks, in front of, and inside, the terminal building.

Disability access facilitation plan

This plan has been developed with grateful assistance from Cairns Airport and expertise provided by Adelaide Airport through their Airport Disability Facilitation Plan (AAPDFP) in conjunction with Australian Airports Association. In acknowledging Adelaide Airport’s pivotal role in structuring the content of the Mackay Airport Plan acknowledgement must also go to the various disability advisory organisations, both State and Federal listed in the (AAPDFP) who assisted Adelaide, Cairns and Mackay management.
